A prompt is the message you send to the AI tool. Copy the one on this page, put your own details where it asks, and read the answer before you act on it.

What the prompt labels mean

The person didn't share their exact words, so we wrote this from what they described. We haven't tested it, and they didn't use this exact version.

Our family is dairy-free, gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and egg-free, and one child is very picky. Plan a week of dinners we'll actually eat, write each recipe, and give me one grocery list for the week organized by store aisle.

Sends the Recreated prompt shown above. ChatGPT and Grok open with it filled in, and ChatGPT may send it straight away. Gemini and Claude open empty, so we copy the prompt for you to paste. Every button also copies it.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish.

Goal: Plan a week of family dinners that respect every food restriction, with recipes and one grocery list sorted by aisle.

Questions to ask me first:
- Which foods must be avoided, and is any of them a true allergy?
- Which nights are busy, and how much time do you have to cook?
- What does the picky eater reliably eat?

Inputs (fill in or confirm):
- Restrictions and allergies: [LIST]
- People and portions: [NUMBER]
- Busy nights and cooking time: [SCHEDULE]
- Equipment available: [TOOLS]
- Food already at home: [ITEMS]

Rules:
- Repeat the full restriction list at the top of every reply, and check every ingredient against it.
- Flag store-bought items that often hide a restricted ingredient so I can check the label.
- Give realistic total times, including prep, and amounts sized for my household.
- Use what I already have before adding to the grocery list.

Checkpoint: Show me the seven dinner names with their main ingredients and wait for my changes before writing recipes.

If you get stuck: If a dish can't be made safely within the restrictions, replace it instead of bending a rule.

Verify before you finish: Check each recipe and the grocery list against the restriction list one more time and list anything I should double-check.

Output: A weekly dinner plan, the recipes and one grocery list grouped by aisle.

Done when: I have a week of dinners that fit every restriction, with realistic times and a list ready to shop.

Outcome

Alyssa Rowe's family is dairy-, gluten-, wheat-, soy- and egg-free, and Rowe uses ChatGPT to plan the week's meals, write the recipes and build a grocery list organized by aisle, with all five restrictions tracked at once instead of swapping ingredients in found recipes one at a time. When the Instant Pot is dirty, it swaps the method to baking, and it reworks the plan for cook-once, eat-twice weeks. Rowe's extremely picky son, who rarely eats the adults' food, has eaten more of the recipes ChatGPT planned than the ones Rowe used to make. Rowe has also hit its limits: in long chats it forgets restrictions and offers a cream sauce forty messages after being told dairy-free, a "20-minute" dinner takes 35, one recipe wanted three pounds of chicken to feed four people, and asking twice gets two different answers.
