  2. Open ChatGPT.
  3. Paste it into the message box.
  4. Send it, then read the answer before acting on it.
New to this? What's a prompt?

A prompt is the message you send to the AI tool. Copy the one on this page, put your own details where it asks, and read the answer before you act on it.

Prompt

Recreated prompt

The source didn't share its exact prompt, so we wrote one from what it describes. The result shown is the source's, not ours.

What the prompt labels mean

The person didn't share their exact words, so we wrote this from what they described. We haven't tested it, and they didn't use this exact version.

Read this school calendar PDF or screenshot and turn it into plain text, then into a Google Calendar-friendly CSV with dates first. I will download the file and use Google Calendar Settings → Import. If the import says 0 events, help me fix the format.

Try this in:

Sends the Recreated prompt shown above. ChatGPT and Grok open with it filled in, and ChatGPT may send it straight away. Gemini and Claude open empty, so we copy the prompt for you to paste. Every button also copies it.

Opens in a new tab. We don't see what you send.

Optional stronger version

Our rewrite with extra checks. The poster didn't test it.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish.

Goal: Convert a school calendar document into a Google Calendar import file.

Questions to ask me first:
- Is the source a PDF, image, or Word doc?
- Which year and timezone?
- New calendar name?

Inputs (fill in or confirm):
- Source: [PDF / IMAGE]
- Year: [SCHOOL YEAR]
- Calendar name: [SCHOOL]

Rules:
- Dates must lead each row for import.
- Do not invent holidays not in the source.
- If Gemini/other tools conflict, prefer a CSV I can import myself.

Checkpoint: Show the first five parsed events for my OK before the full CSV.

If you get stuck: If import returns 0 events, revise formatting rather than creating one mega-event.

Verify before you finish: Spot-check matches the PDF titles and dates.

Output: Importable CSV/TXT plus short import steps.

Done when: School dates appear on my Google Calendar.

Outcome

ChiTown Darren spent about two hours across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude turning a mobile-hostile school calendar into a Google Calendar import, then repeated the method for two friends. ChatGPT handled PDF-to-text and CSV shaping best for the final import path. Gemini performed worst—wrong Drive access claims and bad Google Calendar advice—so the working path was ChatGPT export plus manual Import in Calendar settings, not one-click magic.

Evidence: Described by posterThe person describes what happened in words, without screenshots or video.

Known limitations

PartialThe source says it only partly worked, or had a significant problem a person had to deal with.

What went wrong: Eventually worked for three calendars, but took ~2 hours across three models; Gemini gave wrong Google product advice.
