Build a voice-powered family memory app for passwords, places and warranties with ChatGPT and Replit

WorkedEvidence: Described by posterPosted Last checked

Josh Thephasdin built a voice app with ChatGPT and Replit that the family uses to save and find passwords, places and warranties.

How to use this

  1. Tap Copy prompt.
  2. Open the tool the case used (or a similar one) and paste the prompt; results may differ from the original.
  3. Paste it into the message box.
  4. Send it, then read the answer before acting on it.
New to this? What's a prompt?

A prompt is the message you send to the AI tool. Copy the one on this page, put your own details where it asks, and read the answer before you act on it.

Recreated prompt

The source didn't share its exact prompt, so we wrote one from what it describes. The result shown is the source's, not ours.

What the prompt labels mean

The person didn't share their exact words, so we wrote this from what they described. We haven't tested it, and they didn't use this exact version.

Help me build a mobile app my family can use by voice to save and look up everyday information, like where practice is, the Wi-Fi password, warranty dates or which painter we used. Each voice note should be sorted into a calendar event, a secure vault entry or a simple note, and anything secret should need multi-factor authentication.

Try this in:

Sends the Recreated prompt shown above. ChatGPT and Grok open with it filled in, and ChatGPT may send it straight away. Gemini and Claude open empty, so we copy the prompt for you to paste. Every button also copies it.

Opens in a new tab. We don't see what you send.

Optional stronger version

Our rewrite with extra checks. The poster didn't test it.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish.

Goal: A shared family app for remembering everyday details, used mostly by voice.

Questions to ask me first:
- Who in the family will use it, and on which phones?
- What kinds of things do you most often forget?
- How sensitive is the information you'll store?

Inputs (fill in or confirm):
- Users and devices: [NAMES, IPHONE / ANDROID]
- Common questions: [EXAMPLES]
- Sensitive items: [PASSWORDS, ID NUMBERS]
- Build tools: [E.G. REPLIT, EXPO GO]

Rules:
- Put secrets behind multi-factor authentication.
- Say clearly that this isn't a dedicated password manager.
- Confirm what was saved after every voice note.
- Keep each family member's private items private.

Checkpoint: Show a working save-and-retrieve flow for one note type before adding the rest.

If you get stuck: If a voice note is unclear, ask a follow-up question instead of guessing the type.

Verify before you finish: A test run saves and retrieves each note type correctly by voice.

Output: A working app plus a short guide for family members.

Done when: Anyone in the family can ask the app instead of asking each other.

Outcome

In Thomas (Josh) Thephasdin's large family, the same questions came up all the time: where a child's practice is, the Wi-Fi password, a TSA PreCheck number, which painter they used last year, how long an appliance warranty runs. The answers were scattered across password files, business cards and papers in junk drawers. Using ChatGPT and Replit, Thephasdin built an app where anyone in the family can save or look up information by voice; AI interprets each voice note and decides whether to create a calendar event, store a password in a vault or simply remember a phone number, and multi-factor authentication guards anything particularly secret. Thephasdin's wife came up with the app's name, and after a few weeks Thephasdin was using it about 10 times a day.

Evidence: Described by posterThe person describes what happened in words, without screenshots or video.
