Prompt
These are the person's own words, as shared in the source.
Plan a complete weekend road trip for 6 people from scratch. Do not ask me to choose a destination. Instead, select the destination yourself based on the details below and explain why it is suitable. We will travel from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, from 25 September to 27 September, using our own 7-seater car and driving ourselves. Our total budget is INR 15,000 per person (INR 90,000 for all six), covering fuel, tolls, parking, accommodation, food, activities, and other trip expenses. Choose a destination that makes sense for a short self-drive trip from Ahmedabad. Consider road distance, driving time, road conditions, September weather, sightseeing opportunities, accommodation, food, and how much time we will actually have at the destination. Create a realistic day-by-day itinerary, including departure and arrival times, driving routes, fuel and toll estimates, accommodation recommendations, meals, attractions, parking, and activity costs. Prioritize an enjoyable pace over seeing everything. Avoid excessive driving or cramming too many activities into one day. Also include what you would skip, potential problems, backup options, estimated total cost, and anything we should book in advance. Clearly distinguish verified information from estimates.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish. Goal: Plan a weekend road trip for a group that fits our budget and doesn't overload the driving. Questions to ask me first: - Where are you starting from, and on which dates? - How many people, what vehicle and what total budget? - Should I pick the destination or do you have one in mind? Inputs (fill in or confirm): - Start point and dates: [CITY AND DATES] - Group size and vehicle: [DETAILS] - Total budget: [AMOUNT] - Interests and limits: [INTERESTS, MAX DRIVING HOURS] - Destination, if chosen: [PLACE OR 'YOU PICK'] Rules: - Mark each cost as verified or estimated. - Use the budget sensibly; don't leave half of it unspent or blow past it. - Include fuel, tolls, parking, lodging, food and activities. - Give rain or delay backups. Checkpoint: Show me the destination, route and lodging budget and wait for my OK before the day-by-day plan. If you get stuck: If you can't confirm a toll or lodging price, give a range and tell me where to check it. Verify before you finish: Add up every cost line and confirm the total against the budget. Output: A day-by-day itinerary with times, a cost table and a list of things to book ahead. Done when: We have a plan and budget we can book from.

Outcome
Yash Patel of XDA Developers gave ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini the same prompt: plan a self-drive weekend trip for six people from Ahmedabad in a 7-seater car, with a total budget of INR 90,000, and pick the destination. All three independently chose Udaipur, which Patel has visited several times and could cross-check. ChatGPT gave the most complete, usable plan, including rain backups, but its toll estimate wasn't accurate and it played it safe on accommodation. Claude was the slowest and miscalculated the stay costs, so its budget showed the group saving almost half the money. Gemini's plan was shorter but its accommodation cost was close to what Patel expected, its toll calculation was accurate and it used the budget more naturally.

Known limitations
PartialThe source says it only partly worked, or had a significant problem a person had to deal with.
What went wrong: All three picked the same sensible destination, but ChatGPT's tolls and Claude's lodging costs were off; only Gemini's costs held up to Patel's checks.
