Prompt
These are the person's own words, as shared in the source.
For each of the health plans listed below download and extract the data in the linked summary of benefits. Create a table comparing the details of each plan with the included coverage, deductibles, and costs. With a family of four (two adults and two kids) create a table comparing the per occurrence costs and annual costs for different common scenarios (ear infections, urgent care visits, stitches, broken bones, etc...) as well as exceptional events requiring hospitalization, surgery, and physical therapy (cardiac, appendicitis, ACL/MCL/Achilles), include any additional things that are reasonably common that I have not listed. Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish. Goal: Compare family health-plan SBCs into cost tables I can take to a broker. Questions to ask me first: - How many adults and kids are on the plan? - Which plan names, premiums and SBC links should be compared? - Which common and major medical scenarios matter most to you? Inputs (fill in or confirm): - Plans with premiums and SBC URLs: [LIST] - Family size: [ADULTS / KIDS] - Scenarios to cost: [EAR INFECTION / URGENT CARE / SURGERY / OTHER] Rules: - Pull numbers from the SBC documents, not from memory. - Build a coverage/deductible table and a scenario cost table. - Flag any field you cannot read from the PDF. - Remind me to verify with a licensed broker before enrolling. Checkpoint: After the first plan, show a sample row format and wait for my OK. If you get stuck: If an SBC link fails, ask me to upload the PDF instead of inventing benefits. Verify before you finish: Spot-check premiums and deductibles against the PDF text before comparing totals. Output: Two comparison tables plus a short list of questions for my broker. Done when: I can walk into a broker call with specific plan questions.

3 blanks are still empty: Plans with premiums and SBC URLs; Family size; Scenarios to cost. They'll stay in brackets in your prompt, so the chat tool may ask you about them.

Outcome
Max Clark wanted to leave United Healthcare for a traditional family plan and wrote a prompt that asks an AI to download each plan's Summary of Benefits and Coverage, build coverage tables, and compare per-visit and annual costs for common and major events for a family of four. Running the same prompt across tools, Clark could not get Claude to produce anything useful, ChatGPT had trouble downloading SBCs until Clark worked around it, and Gemini and Grok both downloaded, parsed and outputted comparable tables. The work shortened plan research to a couple of hours plus a 30-minute broker call; the broker still pointed out things the AI had missed. Clark warns not to rely on AI alone to pick insurance.

Known limitations
PartialThe source says it only partly worked, or had a significant problem a person had to deal with.
What went wrong: Claude produced nothing useful and ChatGPT stumbled on SBC downloads; Gemini and Grok worked, but a broker still caught AI misses.
