  • Michel, in San Diego, works in a tight-margin business with basic back-office software, and sending late-invoice reminders was repetitive manual work. Claude Cowork walked them through setting up an agent that logs in every Monday night, checks overdue accounts receivable and matches customer names against a Google Sheet of contacts. Using Michel's email template, it adds the contact name, invoice number, amount and due date, puts the emails in the Drafts folder and sends Michel a report of which customers were included, what each owes and the totals. Michel reviews the drafts and sends them, saving about an hour every Monday night.

  • Sridhar Katakam used Claude Cowork to go through the statements and transactions from several bank accounts, Stripe, PayPal and Wise and prepare business expense and income spreadsheets. Their accountant reviewed them and said they were good enough that Katakam no longer needed the accountant's services for BAS and could file it themselves, a saving of about $530 AUD per quarter. The accountant also suggested having Claude do the same for the whole year, and said the fee for filing the income tax return would come down.

  • George Liu bought two Samsung phones from Best Buy, one for themselves and one for their father, and noticed a 30-day price match policy covering drops at Best Buy or major competitors. They spent 15 minutes building a Claude Cowork skill, gave it the model number and told it to check Best Buy, Amazon, Costco and a few other retailers every morning at 7 AM. One morning it found a quiet $20 drop on Best Buy's own product page: not a coupon or a sale, just a lower price. They opened Best Buy's chat, its AI walked them through the price match and a human agent approved a refund of $40 plus tax for the two phones.

  • Wes Pomeroy's town assessment had nearly doubled since they bought the house eight or nine years earlier, and they realised the last day to challenge it was that day. Using Claude Cowork connected to Gmail, Google Drive and Chrome, they first asked about the official rules and deadline, which turned up that a mailed form wouldn't count: it had to be handed in in person by 9 PM. Claude found an old broker appraisal, the assessor's email about a renovation and the addition's square footage, and cut a weak argument about crime risk that had no data behind it. It filled the official form, drafted a cover letter, built a comparison page and a labelled photo exhibit and merged them into one file. Pomeroy says the first pass was about 65% right and corrected it several times. Both owners signed and the packet was stamped at the assessor's office before the deadline. The post doesn't give a result yet.

  • John Fong had a box of receipts that had sat on their desk for 1.5 years, some crumpled, some with faded ink, and some restaurant meals split across two receipts with the tip on its own. They started a Claude Cowork project called AP Agent, photographed 63 receipts into a folder and asked for an Excel sheet they could batch upload to QuickBooks. They took a shower and 8 minutes later came back to a completed file with every receipt allocated to an account and amount. It flagged 3 receipts it had only partly read, asking them to check those, and 3 that weren't valid expenses under CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) rules.

  • Anthony Garcia's taxes had got complicated enough that Garcia hired an accountant, who was still a month and a half away from giving the full picture. Garcia copied all the tax files, some electronic PDFs and some scans of paper copies, into one folder, pointed Claude Cowork at it and asked for an estimate of the 2025 taxes due. Claude read all of them. In 30 minutes it produced a summary table of tax liability, amount withheld and balance due, with a thorough breakdown that referred to boxes on the tax forms.

  • Nick Davidov asked Claude Cowork to organise their spouse's desktop. It asked permission to delete temporary Office files, they agreed, and then it said "ooops": while renaming, it had deleted a folder with every photo the spouse had taken on their camera over 15 years. The deletion was done in the terminal, so nothing was in the Trash; iCloud had already synced the new structure, there was no Time Machine backup, and disk recovery tools found nothing. Apple pointed them to iCloud's recovery feature, which keeps removed iCloud Drive files for 30 days, and the photos started coming back. Their advice: don't let these tools near anything hard to repair or not under version control.
