What the prompt labels mean

The person didn't share their exact words, so we wrote this from what they described. We haven't tested it, and they didn't use this exact version.

Here are my phone and home internet bills. Analyze them and tell me which plan I should be on, what current discounts I'm not getting, and how competitors' prices compare. Then write me a short script I can paste into my provider's live chat to switch to a better plan.

Our rewrite with extra checks. The poster didn't test it.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish.

Goal: Review my phone and internet bills, find fees and missed discounts, and give me a short live-chat script to lower the bill.

Questions to ask me first:
- Which providers and plans are you on, and how long have you had them?
- Are you planning any changes, like a phone upgrade?
- Do you or a family member qualify for any employer, military or student discount programs?

Inputs (fill in or confirm):
- Bills with account numbers removed: [BILLS]
- Phone or service changes I'm planning: [CHANGES]
- Discount programs I might qualify for: [PROGRAMS]
- Competitor plans I'm considering: [COMPETITORS]

Rules:
- List every line item with its monthly cost and flag rentals, fees and discounts I'm not getting.
- Only name discounts or programs as possibilities to confirm with the provider; don't promise prices.
- Keep the chat script to 2–3 sentences and ask the agent to confirm the new total with all fees before any change.
- Remind me to keep account numbers out of the chat.

Checkpoint: Show me the line-item review and your top 3 savings ideas and wait for my go-ahead before writing scripts.

If you get stuck: If you can't tell what a charge is, tell me the question to ask the provider instead of guessing.

Verify before you finish: Check that every dollar figure comes from my bills or is clearly marked as an estimate.

Output: A table of charges with notes, a ranked list of savings ideas, and a paste-ready chat script for each.

Done when: I know which charges to question and have a script ready to paste into live chat.

Outcome

Gene Chuang wanted to upgrade two family iPhones, so Chuang uploaded an AT&T Wireless bill to Claude and asked which plan to choose, which discounts were missing and how Verizon and T-Mobile compared. Claude suggested staying on the grandfathered Unlimited plan and joining the AT&T Signature program through a family member's employer, which removed the $35 upgrade fee on each phone: $70 saved. Reading the AT&T Fiber bill, Claude spotted a $10/mo equipment rental and a missed $10/mo discount for paying by checking instead of a card, and wrote a short live-chat script. After 15 minutes on live chat, the internet bill dropped from $105/mo to $80/mo.
