Draft an illustrated children's book with Kids Book Maker before the art drifted

Make a nine-page illustrated children's book, including the cover, about Fant the elephant and Viper the nurse snake, on illness, sadness and friendship, using my original drawings for both characters. Follow my page-by-page brief, keep my bold retro cartoon style, and write the narration and dialogue in Dutch.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish. Goal: A storyboard and draft text for a picture book that keeps my characters looking like my drawings. Questions to ask me first: - Who are the characters, and what's the story about? - What art style must stay the same? - Which language and how many pages? Inputs (fill in or confirm): - Characters: [NAMES, ORIGINAL DRAWINGS] - Story brief: [PAGE-BY-PAGE NOTES] - Style: [E.G. BOLD OUTLINES, SATURATED WARM COLORS] - Language and length: [E.G. DUTCH, 9 PAGES] Rules: - Match the characters' proportions and colors to my drawings on every page. - Add no lettering, tattoos or extra limbs I didn't ask for. - Leave the cover text-free; I'll add the title myself. - Keep the story gentle and suitable for young children. Checkpoint: Show the first two pages before making the rest. If you get stuck: If a page drifts from my style, redo only that page instead of the whole book. Verify before you finish: Every page shows the characters matching the reference drawings. Output: Nine pages with narration and dialogue, and a list of pages that need fixing. Done when: I have a storyboard and text I can finish into a real book.

Outcome
Fien De Waele wanted to turn two existing characters, Fant the elephant and Viper the nurse snake, into a children's book about illness, sadness and friendship. Running Kids Book Maker with the original drawings and a page-by-page brief produced nine illustrated screens, including the cover, plus Dutch narration and dialogue De Waele liked, and useful pacing and compositions. But the art drifted toward soft pastel baby animals instead of the bold retro cartoon style. De Waele kept the page order, camera angles, settings and some edited dialogue, then rebuilt the illustrations one at a time using the original artwork as the style reference; an extra elephant leg kept surviving the edits, and the AI lettering on the cover looked generic, so the title was added in Canva. The result was several approved scenes and a story that holds together, with the print-ready book finished by hand in Canva.
Evidence: Described by posterThe person describes what happened in words, without screenshots or video.
Known limitations
PartialThe source says it only partly worked, or had a significant problem a person had to deal with.
What went wrong: Gave a usable storyboard, Dutch text and compositions, but the art drifted from the characters' style, an extra leg kept returning and the cover lettering had to be redone.
