A prompt is the message you send to the AI tool. Copy the one on this page, put your own details where it asks, and read the answer before you act on it.

Recreated prompt

The source didn't share its exact prompt, so we wrote one from what it describes. The result shown is the source's, not ours.

What the prompt labels mean

The person didn't share their exact words, so we wrote this from what they described. We haven't tested it, and they didn't use this exact version.

You are my household grocery shopping agent. Open Chrome and go to walmart.com. For each item on my list, prefer products I have bought before, choose non-organic produce, and size quantities for a family of six. Review the full cart against the list at the end and tell me every item you skipped or want me to check.

Try this in:

Sends the Recreated prompt shown above. ChatGPT and Grok open with it filled in, and ChatGPT may send it straight away. Gemini and Claude open empty, so we copy the prompt for you to paste. Every button also copies it.

Opens in a new tab. We don't see what you send.

Optional stronger version

Our rewrite with extra checks. The poster didn't test it.

Before you start, ask me 1–3 short questions about the details below and wait for my answers. Once I've answered, confirm the plan in one line and run the whole task start to finish.

Goal: Fill my online grocery cart from my list using my purchase history, then report what needs review.

Questions to ask me first:
- Which store site and account?
- How many people are we buying for?
- Any brand, organic or size rules?

Inputs (fill in or confirm):
- Store: [WALMART.COM]
- List: [SHOPPING LIST]
- Household size: [6]
- Preferences: [BOUGHT-BEFORE FIRST / NON-ORGANIC PRODUCE]

Rules:
- Do not check out or pay.
- Skip an item only if you genuinely cannot choose.
- Do not add anything that is not on the list.

Checkpoint: After the first ten items, show what you picked so I can correct your choices.

If you get stuck: If the site blocks you or asks for a CAPTCHA, stop and tell me rather than retrying in a loop.

Verify before you finish: Compare the cart line by line with the list and remove extras.

Output: A filled cart plus a list of skipped items and picks to review.

Done when: I only have to review the flagged items and press checkout.

Codex

Outcome

After a year and a half of grocery agents that mostly failed or got blocked on walmart.com, Brad Carter gave Codex with background computer use a long household shopping list and rules: prefer items marked as bought before, pick non-organic produce, and size quantities for a family of six. Codex ran for nineteen minutes, stopped halfway to ask whether to finish, and after a 'yes' reached 66 items in the cart—about fifty-one minutes in total. It added one yogurt that was not on the list and then removed it; Carter did not double-check the cart.

Context: Carter reports earlier attempts: OpenAI Operator saved about half an hour a week until Walmart blocked it, ChatGPT agent took about an hour and a half to add four items, and Claude in Chrome stalled on small choices. The post prints the full prompt and list; ours is condensed.
